Street Team: Civic Outreach & Visibility Crew

A small group of students who help promote Mind On Civic posts, workshops, and summer events through schools, clubs, and youth organizations.

Opportunity:

Information

      The Street Team is a hands-on leadership role for students who want to make Mind On Civic's mission visible in the community. Members of the Street Team will be responsible for helping to promote the summer program and other events, engage local students, and amplify Gen Z voices through creative, real-world actions. It is offered both in-person and virtually.

What You’ll Do

  • Promote our program: Spread the word about upcoming workshops, events, and our summer program through local outreach

  • Flyer creation and distribution: Design and distribute flyers to local schools, libraries, coffee shops, and community centers

  • Social media shout-outs: Share program details and content on your social media accounts to engage your peers and encourage signups

  • Host meetups and info sessions: Organize and lead small events or info sessions for your peers at school or in the community to discuss Mind On Civic's mission and summer programs

  • Collaborate with local organizations: Partner with local community centers, schools, and youth-focused organizations to increase visibility and reach

Who It’s For

  • Incoming and current high school (grades 9 through 12), and college students who are passionate about civic engagement, social justice, and leadership

  • Students with an interest in event promotion, community outreach, or public speaking

  • Those who enjoy organizing, creating, and amplifying a message

  • No experience required, just enthusiasm and commitment!

What You’ll Gain

Project Timeline (Tentative)

  • June–August:
    • Street Team members will work during the summer program and also help with promotional efforts leading up to the launch

  • Meetings will be held every 2 weeks for updates, training, and brainstorming
