The Blog Writing Internship offers high school students the chance to develop their writing skills while exploring important civic issues. As a year-round intern, you will write, edit, and publish pieces on topics like education, social justice, youth mental health, policy, and more. This internship is perfect for students interested in civic engagement, writing, and making an impact through digital media.

What You’ll Do

Write articles on relevant issues such as education equity, mental health policy, Gen Z activism, or social justice.

Edit and refine your writing with feedback from experienced mentors and peers.

Publish work on Mind On Civic’s platform, gaining exposure and building your portfolio.

Participate in writing workshops where you’ll learn how to structure an op-ed, conduct research, and engage your audience.

Collaborate with other interns to brainstorm ideas, work on group pieces, and share insights.

Requirements

Incoming and current high school (grades 9 through 12), and college students passionate about writing and social issues.

The use of AI (artificial intelligence) is prohibited; removal from the program will be considered.

Be able to send in a blog post at least every two weeks, more than that is even better.

Those interested in journalism, advocacy, or civic education.
-
Students who are eager to learn, improve, and engage with real-world issues through writing.
-
No previous experience is required, just a love for writing and a desire to make an impact.
